Theatre Policies

Children Age 2 & Younger

Please be sure that each member of your party three years of age and older has a ticket for the movie. While the El Capitan Theatre does not require you to purchase a ticket for a child age two or younger, the child must sit on an adult's lap through the entire movie. With sold out shows, there may not be a seat near your reserved seats to purchase at the time of your show. Booster seats are available for all shows.

Costumes

Event Guests are welcome to attend in your favorite costume(s) but must abide by the following guidelines: All costumes must be family-friendly and cannot be obstructive, offensive or violent. Costumes cannot drag on the ground and/or impede Guests from being able to walk on uneven ground or steps. Costumes cannot contain sharp or pointed objects which may strike another Guest. Masks may not be worn by any Guests ages 14 or older (unless required for medical purposes). When worn by younger Guests, masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully visible. Lastly, costumes cannot contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Security and Bag Checks

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our El Capitan Theatre Guests, all persons, bags, parcels and other items will be subject to screening/security checks upon entrance to the theatre. We reserve the right not to allow any bag, parcel or other item to be brought into the theatre, and to deal with any unattended object in such a way as we consider appropriate. Weapons of any kind and/or any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon that pose a security risk are prohibited in the theatre. Any guest who leaves the theatre building (including entering the adjacent retail store) may only reenter the theatre through the front doors of the theatre and go through security check again.
